Let me go on a little rant here about ASL & deaf culture.

On my school website, it says they are offering classes to people who would enjoy learning ASL and be certified, or whatever.

Meanwhile, when I asked if I could take ASL as my foreign language, they said no and that it is not considered a language by the university.

That is complete bull because if it isn’t, how come it is being provided as a class to be CERTIFIED in the language?

Sarah can you throw a message at my friend @nothingevenmatters? She’s going for her certification in my hometown and I think you guys would have a lot to talk about! She’s really passionate about the community (as of course you are too) and hopes to become a deaf prof or educator.
